New building is dedicated for grades 2,3, 4, and 6.

These 4 new classrooms were finished (enough) for school in September 2017. We first saw them in April, when students were eager to show them off. Thanks to many generous friends, construction on another building to mirror this one is underway.

 

 

School rooms in Chapottinhave been  upgraded with finished roofs , windows,  plastered walls, and a boys' and girls' rooms out back.  In April, we saw both Preschool and grades 5-6 meeting in the large church sanctuary. Thanks to generous partners, we anticipate adding a second story to this school.

2016 First-Ever Graduation in Trois Mares. The Light and Peace School graduated 10 teenagers, who all qualified for more advanced. schooling. At the same time, 25 adults, aged 25-65 earned Alpha certificates. Meeting from 2-6 pm, 5 days each week, they learned to read for the first time, focusing on land management.

 

2016 Chapottin Community Cistern completed in July! Gutters and downspouts direct rain from the church roof to store in this 22,680 gallon water tank made of cinder blocks.

2015 Future Forward for Haiti, Inc. registered as a 501(c)3 non-profit Public Charity to administer the work in Haiti begun by Grace Lutheran Church, Teaneck, in 2008.

2013 First Teaneck Packathon for Haiti sent 25,000 meals to Trois Mares and financed Chapottin School rehab.
